Pastor Gerry Brown comes from a family of fifteen brothers and sisters, and is therefore family oriented. After many years of struggling with the sin of addiction, finding himself in divorce court with a Judge warning him that he was about to ruin his life, he agreed to do whatever his lovely wife Peggy wanted for him to get his family back. Peggy’s one requirement was for Gerry to attend church with her. Gerry agreed, not realizing God would get a hold of his heart and change his life forever.
That was over twenty years ago. Today he is the Senior Pastor of Calvary Chapel Romoland and also the founder and President of U-Turn For Christ. His unique shoot-from-the-hip style of teaching gets right to the heart of the matter, and the meat of the Word. His powerfully unique style of delivering God’s Word will both challenge and encourage you to new levels of maturity in your walk with Jesus, as we draw from God’s design for living, and discover new insights to God’s “Truth and Love in Action”.
Pastor Gerry Brown has been married to his wife Peggy for over 35 years and have 3 grown children, Julie, Joshua, and Daniel, and 4 beautiful grandchildren, Anthony III (Tre), Aaliyah, Jayln, and Jaydn. Joshua, the Brown’s oldest son is single, while Daniel, their youngest son is newly married, giving them their first daughter-in-love, Nubia.
Pastor Gerry and Peggy have worked hard to establish a family atmosphere in the ministry of U-Turn for Christ and Calvary Chapel Romoland. They pray that you would consider sending your loved ones to them so that they may receive Jesus as Lord and Savior and allow the power of the Holy Spirit to set them free from the bondage of sin.
Founder and President
I was introduced to the ministry of U-Turn For Christ in 1998 by my parents who were referred through Calvary Chapel of Costa Mesa. On October 21st 1998, I entered the ministry and just like many of the men and women who enroll everyday, my life was a mess and I could not do anything on my own strength to change. I’m one of the thousands of men and women who have come to this ministry and that have had the Lord do the miracle that only He can do. I married my beautiful wife, Rosie, in December of 1998, after graduating Phase-1; and have three beautiful daughters, Brittany 17, Kaitlyn 15, and Alicia 8. I now have the privilege of watching the Lord perform that same miracle in the lives of the men and women who enroll today, as He did in me 17 years ago, serving as the Administrator and Assistant Pastor. “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us” Ephesians 3:20.
I came into the ministry in 1995, devastated from drugs and alcohol. God used Pastor Gerry and the U-Turn for Christ ministries to get my focus back on the Lord. Ever since, God has blessed me to have the privilege of being involved in the worship ministry. I love to worship the Lord at U-Turn for Christ and seeing the men and women transformed daily as they give their hearts to the Lordship of Jesus. In 2002, God blessed me with my beautiful wife Kirby and we currently serve in the ministry together. I count it a privilege to have served at U-Turn for Christ all these years. “Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.” Colossians 3:16
Peggy Brown is the wife of Pastor Gerry Brown, founder and president of U-turn for Christ and Calvary Chapel Romoland. She is the director of U-Turn for Christ Women's Ranch and Calvary Chapel Romoland Women's Ministry, where she has taught for more then twenty years. In addition Peggy is a conference speaker both locally and internationally, delivering a message of His hope and faithfulness. She has witnessed first hand the power of God's word and Prayer in the transformation of her marriage, family, and life. She now passes on that hope through the teaching of God's Word and prayer to women all over the world.
I am currently serving as the Head Overseer for the Women’s Ranch. I came to the ministry back in 2009, after being lost in an alcohol and drug addiction for several years of my life. It was this very ministry where I was able to build a relationship with the Lord. I now have the opportunity to share with other women the love of Christ, just as it was shared with me.
Before coming to U-Turn For Christ my life was characterized by one thing, wreckage. I had wonderful peaks in both my career and education but because of my inability to control my addiction to alcohol and drugs my life also had tragic valleys.
When I came to the Ranch I was broken in every way possible: lost friendships, hurt family members, destroyed career opportunities, ruined marriages, a pointless education and the worst part was I had single-handedly pushed God so far out of my life it was difficult for me to conclude that my life was even worth redeeming.
Within a few weeks of being on the Ranch my life slowly began to make sense again. I started to believe more and more that I was loved by the God of the Universe, and less and less that I was generally ok and just needed a two month break. I began to seek God instead of an escape because I was told at U-Turn that was the best way to live. I commenced to walk in faith that Jesus Christ was more than I could ever ask for, and not just what I was left with when my sins outweighed my peace. Through U-Turn For Christ I rediscovered my Creator and He was able to begin restoring my brokenness as I submitted my thoughts and plans to Him and today it is my honor to serve Him at U-Turn as the Overseer.
”For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope” Jeremiah 29:11.
I grew up in a family where God was rejected by my parents but embraced by my two sisters and my grandmother, who loved the Lord and really taught me how to pray. But because my parents where the bigger influence on my life well into my 30’s I lived as an atheist who was very lost. It was a normal childhood on many accounts; trips to Disney World were a family favorite. After my parents divorced I began a normal routine of drinking and using with my dad on the weekends. By the age of 15 I was a crystal meth addict. After a suicide attempt my mother had me professionally kidnapped to my first program where I graduated and lived until I was 18. I fell back into drinking at 19 but moved out and had a successful career for 12 years. After losing a number of friends and feeling bitter and resentful I fell deeper into my sin, almost to the point of losing my own life. My family introduced me to U-turn for Christ where I learned about God’s grace and love and that all way required of me was obedience and in doing so I am able to live in His love forever. One day I surrendered my life at the crosses at the Ranch and almost immediately i was hit with a great respect for His Love and Power. Romans 12:1-2 says: “Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
