Icela Ramirez (Izzy)

My name is Icela Ramirez (Izzy), and I was raised in Napa, CA. I’ve been struggling with my addiction for a few years. About 4 years ago I was diagnosed with PTSD and depression. Then in September 2020, I began hearing voices and having a mental breakdown, and ended up at the mental health facility. That experience left me with fear and a family who was very concerned for my life. They were all very supportive and helped me get back on my feet. I got sober for 6 months and in that short time I was able to get a good job and saved money to pay off my bills and buy a new car. Just as I thought everything was going fine, I ran into an old friend and we used meth together. I relapsed seven times harder, and within two months I had lost my couldn’t do this all alone, and needed to seek professional help. I came to U-Turn on November 6, 2021. During my first phase at the Ranch, I was able to surrender my heart to God, seeking His will for my life. Everyday I pray for my sobriety. My walk with God has been amazing. I am a work in progress; doing better than I was. I am submitting myself to God and His will. I’m not ashamed to say that I’m following and chasing Him. I love to worship God and I’m committed to doing 2nd phase at U-Turn. God has also restored my relationship with my 5 year old son. I’m starting over fresh, but this time every step I take, God is guiding me.
